Former Media Molecules announce Death Inc.
A streamlined strategy game of plague, pestilence and profit coming to PC and Mac.
Death Inc, a streamlined strategy game of plague, pestilence and profit for PC and Mac, has been announced by Ambient Studios – an independent developer founded in 2011 by former Media Molecule employees.
In Death Inc. players must guide Grim T. Livingstone, freelance reaper, through 1660's England spreading fear, pestilence and the bubonic plague.
The game is strategy experience with no micromanagement or complex menus. Paint your orders into the land to unleash your infected minions on serfs, wenches and noblemen. Then use harvested souls to build your business empire with the aim to become the greatest reaper the world has ever endured.
The denizens of the 17th century won't lose their souls without a fight, arming themselves with sticks, pitchforks, bows and muskets in order to fend off your minions.
Look out for details on a firm release date soon given that Ambient says the game will be released shortly.

Thanks for the comments about the game. MJTH that's a really excellent analysis of the art style. Godus looks really great and it is true that similarities can be drawn between the two from the camera angle and scale. I hope we are doing enough to distinguish ourselves and create a unique 'Ambient Studios' style. Colour has certainly been an area of focus, in fact a lot of that was inspired by Gustav Klimpts landscape paintings - his stuff is awesome, really beautiful and very interesting use of colour and shape. The distortion of the buildings works with some of the other elements to keep the game feeling light hearted - we want it to be a quirky and fun game and so try and push that with the art style.
We'll be working hard over the next few weeks to produce some cool stuff in time for the Kickstarter so there should a whole batch of new things to see then.
Thanks again for your support.

Yeah, so I can't see really, It's really only the camera angle of the screens where I see a connection.

EDIT: Apparently it will be a Kickstarter game and they will launch their Kickstarter campaign on February 4th, I guess they want people to know what they're doing beforehand to ensure it's not a flop.
