A console port of DayZ is "almost certain", creator Dean Hall has said, revealing that Sony appears to be "interested" in releasing the game on PlayStation 4.
"Certainly I think if we don't, for want of a better word 'f**k up,' the PC release then I would say a console port is almost certain," Hall told The Escapist. "I know a lot of people get really hot and bothered about it. Like, I'm not a console gamer, I'm a PC gamer, but I don't think it necessarily has to hurt things."
According to Hall, DayZ "appears to be the kind of game that Sony are interested in, I think we just have to wait and see.
"We've talked and met with Sony, and they're very - you know, they're obviously interested."
DayZ saw tremendous success as a mod for PC military simulator ArmA 2, going on to win multiple awards and earn itself a standalone release. The standalone PC version has been in development at Bohemia since mid-2012.
However, news of a console port has been suggested previously by Bohemia.
Back in September, the developer told VideoGamer.com that it would "be stupid not to" consider a release on console following the success of the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft.
A release date for the standalone PC version has yet to be announced.
