Using a special scripting language, amBX can extend the game world out of the screen and into the real world. Devices such as LED lights, desk fans, rumble pads and more are used to simulate or enhance in-game events.

The titles to use the technology as part of the agreements are Codemasters' TOCA Race Driver 3, and Introversion's DEFCON and Darwinia. These titles join already available amBX-enabled games such as Broken Sword: The Angel of Death and Rail Simulator. Philips is also working to bring its amBX technology to other titles.

In TOCA Race Driver 3 players will be able to feel the wind in their hair and amBX LED lights will create the flashes of lighting in the tree line ahead. In DEFCON an amBX rumble pad and desk fans will be used so that the player feels the impact of attacks - the ground will shake and the force of the explosion will be mimicked by the fans.
