Darksiders II given June 29 release date

Darksiders II will be released June 29 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, THQ has announced.

Pre-order from GAME or Gamestation and receive the Death Rides DLC pack, featuring multiple exclusive side-quests. Aid an ancient Construct, battle The Bloodless and retrieve Karn's lost treasure in around two hours of unique content.

Order from Amazon to get the Deadly Despair pack, adding a speed boost for Death's trusty steed Despair, allowing players to travel across the world even faster than before. This perk is a permanent increase that will last throughout the game.

The Angel of Death pack will give you an edge with a unique set of enhanced armour with an angel inspired design as well as a pair of upgraded matching scythes and a exclusive visual trail for your companion crow Dust. This pack will be available in UK & Ireland at to be confirmed retailer.

I'm really hating all this retailer specific content crap. Considering THQ's recent performance, this business practice seems a bit foolish. Also, with GAMES's current state as a failing business, I am very reluctant to pre-order anything with them. Unfortunately, GAME's pre-order bonus sounds the most interesting.

Still, I'm looking forward to Darksiders 2. I absolutely loved the first DS and the second seems to be doing all the right things to make the license expand and flourish. In a totally selfih way, I'm hoping the game gets delayed a bit as I've got so many epic-huge games to go through and DS2 will just add to the pile.

Along with DS2, my year's game plan is:
Skyrim (finish the thing after soooooo long)
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Mass Effect 3
Borderlands 2
Prey 2
