EA gives away Command & Conquer

The game that started the franchise some 12 years ago is now available to download free of charge.

As part of the Command & Conquer 12th Anniversary celebrations EA has released the original game as a free download over on commandandconquer.com.

August 31 marked 12 years since the original Command & Conquer launched back in 1995 so EA thought it right to celebrate the occasion by letting all gamers play the game that launched a multi-million selling franchise.

The version is compatible with Windows XP, but there are a few extra steps needed to ensure it works correctly - details of which can be found over on commandandconquer.com.
