PC gamer anger grows.

Infinity Ward has revealed that the maximum number of players able to take part in a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer match is 18 on all platforms, news which has angered many PC gaming fans of the series.

While the 18-player count is nothing new to console gamers, PC gamers have been able to take part in 32 player battles in previous Call of Duty titles. This follows the recent announcement that Infinity Ward would not support dedicated servers for the PC version of the game.

Responding to a fan question as part of a Best Buy Q&A, Infinity Ward's Mackey McCandlish said: "The max number of players on all platforms are 1v1 through 9v9. This is the number of players we focused on when we were balancing map size, perks, classes, challenges, etc."

Asked how Infinity Ward can justify the lower player count, Mackey added: "In MW2 the entire experience is carefully balanced for a smaller range of players."

Not long now until you'll be able to see for yourself how the 9v9 player works out - Modern Warfare 2 will be released on November 10 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

I thought they sell Wispas again. Don't tell me they have pulled the plug on them for a third time now.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in the PC platform gaming. They're essentially alienating the PC community and it sounds like they don't care. I personally as well as everyone else I know in the gaming community (PC) have cancelled our pre-orders and have signed the petition that is online for anyone who wants to sign it ( codmw2petition in search engine), and will be out front of the gamestop near my house picketing the game sale. This may seem strange to some who are new to gaming or the young people who will buy anything that looks cool, but I'm 50 years old and still believe I know what's best for me and what I like. I don't need some game designer limiting my choices because they think it's better for me. I guess it's back to EA and the BF series. I know they gonna release the BF 1943 soon and a BF 3 is in the works. gg
