Championship Manager 09 delayed

Will now be released after June 2009.

Eidos has announced that the launch date for the PC Edition of Championship Manager 2009 has been moved from April 2009 to some point after June 30, 2009.

"Eidos has a total commitment to producing the highest quality games and we believe by moving the release date of Championship Manager we will give the product the additional time needed to deliver a more polished and highly competitive game within the genre," said Phil Rogers, Chief Executive Officer, Eidos.

He added: "We will not compromise on quality and we are confident that this decision is right for consumers and will benefit the continued popularity of this franchise."

Its a shame as I think they have included some nice features but I just cannot see it being better then fm 09 or selling much with a July release.

The only reasons I can see is that its not ready or due to the proposed takeover of Eidos. I would hope the game is pretty much ready after already having extra development time.

It would seem like common sense to release when the new league season starts because its now so late its not going to sell very well after the season has finished. Although I have to say after this mess I think Cahmpionship Manager is going bye-bye.
