According to Cryptic Studios boss Jack Emmert, the MMO developer has cancelled development of an Xbox 360 version of Champions Online.

"100% of our focus is on making the current PC product the best it can be," posted Emmert on the game's forum. "There are no current plans for a console version of Champions."

The decision also casts serious doubt over the future of console versions of Cryptic's more recent PC MMO, Star Trek Online.

Cryptic hasn't specified why work on the Xbox 360 version has been stopped.

Funny how this happens to console MMOs - they always start out with "Coming to PCs and Consoles!" and then they forget the "and Consoles!" bit.

Age of Conan, Champions Online... I expect APB will do the same, hopefully Jamin will have some answers as to why from his recent interview with Realtime Worlds.

I think Huxley is the only one left with a glimmer of hope of being the third MMO to grace consoles, the other two being FFXI (a proper MMORPG) and Phantasy Star Universe, (MMO lobbies but only 6-player adventuring, so pseudo-MMORPG) as far as I know. I guess if PSU can be included we might as well chuck in M.A.G. on the PS3, an MMO with a cap but at least it has a persistent world.

Other rather more distant glimmers of hope include:

Dust 514 (CCP developed Eve Online spinoff for 7th gen consoles, announced at the 2009 GDC).
Kingdom Under Fire II (apparently features an MMO mode but not much else is known about it).
Stargate Worlds (developer filed for bankruptcy but assures development still ongoing, the "and Console!" bit has been suspiciously absent from subsequent statements though).
The Secret World (developed by Funcom, Age of Conan developers, so... pretty much no chance).

and...

Undead Labs are still working on their MMOZ (that's MMO, with Zombies).

a podcast interview for the gaming website vg247.com dated August 28th, 2009 Jack Emmer elaborated on the issue, stating that the Xbox 360 version is "ready to go" but is facing an indefinite delay while awaiting Microsoft's approval, which is not readily forthcoming due to Microsoft's indecsion on how to implement MMO's across Xbox Live..[

From the wiki page thought I had read something bout this earlier in year. The pc version already supports the controller etc I think its not proved as popular as they hoped as well.
