Champions Online open beta set for mid August

Fansite Champions Online Daily News got to spend a day at Cryptic HQ last week. In amongst chatting to various Cryptic staffers, the site also reports it was told that the Champions Online open beta will take place in the month prior to its official launch.

"A firm date has been pencilled in and although it's not 100 per cent confirmed, it is slap bang in the middle of August," reports Champions Online Daily.

The official Champions Online website also links to this report, seemingly confirming the validity of the news.

Champions Online is scheduled to launch in the US on September 1 and in Europe on September 4. The game's also scheduled to appear on Xbox 360 before the year end.
