Carmageddon reboot looks to Kickstarter for funding

Stainless Games has launched a Kickstarter to fun Carmageddon: Reincarnation, the reboot of the classic bloody driving game.
The developer is seeking a minimum of $400,000.
"Raising the funds through Kickstarter will mean that we keep complete control of the project and can make the game we know everyone wants to play – with no EVIL corporate investor or publisher telling us that we can't run over old ladies or set fire to cows," said Patrick Buckland, founder and CEO of Stainless Games.
"Carmageddon Reincarnation encapsulates all that is wrong – and therefore right - with video games. We will stay true to Carmageddon's roots while adding a ton more over-the-top, outrageous content," added co-founder Neil 'Nobby' Barnden.
Kickstarter Backers will receive a wide range of reward items, including the chance to appear in the game. A $15 dollar pledge secures a digital download of the game's first release.
Stainless will be reprising classic environments, cars, drivers and power ups from the original games, adding new elements to the mix too.
The Kickstarter project has also been backed by 2,500 people, generating an impressive $93,931. 28 days remain.

Really sorry to say it, Stainless Games. But I would definitely, 100%, want to play a demo of this before I funded it. I don't think you've got what it takes anymore.

The caution behind a kick-starter is, and this isn't directed wholly at Stainless Games:
It's easier to make big mistakes and release a poor quality game when it's somebody else's money. Also, when that somebody else has no way of giving you a bollocking.
