The minimum system requirements for the PC version of Call of Duty Ghosts have been revealed by Infinity Ward, and they're pretty similar to those released by Nvidia earlier in the month.

For the most part the required specs aren't too demanding, but needing 6GB of memory and a 64-Bit OS is somewhat baffling.

Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 40 GB
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
Sound: DirectX compatible sound card
DirectX: DirectX 11
Internet: Broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer.

For caparison here are the minimum system requirements for Battlefield 4.

OS: Windows Vista SP2 32-bit (with KB971512 platform update)
Processor: AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHZ, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ
Memory: 4GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 3870, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
Graphics Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 30 GB

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released November 5. Analysis

Have the minimum specs caught you by surprise, leaving you needing an upgrade for your gaming PC?

The two video cards named come with 1gb of GDDR5 ram. However that is pretty much an irrelevant spec as it would be the output of the GPU over the RAM quantities. It's feasible to have lower quantities of RAM and higher clock speeds with no bottlenecks and achieve the same goals. So giving the required specification of card in a manufactures lineup is a far better way to give requirements.

But I suppose you could ask is the 6790 any good for example as it's an older model but in a higher range.

No video memory requirement for CoD? Thats the biggest issue with running games imo. System memory is cheap as cheaps in comparison.

Minimum specs are surprisingly low imo.

They have to be 64bit processors to utilise the 8GB of RAM in each unit mate. :)

So both def have 64bit x86 processors.

This is a good thing as it is going to take PC gaming on to another level.

I thought next gen consoles didn't even have 64 bit processors?
