Modern Warfare 3 is to be revealed next week if a countdown on findmakarov.com is what it appears to be. Video games site That Videogame Blog received dog tags from Activision with details of the website and some hints as to who might appear in the highly anticipated sequel.

The message "end the war" is etched onto one of them, along with details of Shepherd, the villain from Modern Warfare 2. The countdown on the website ends in just under 5 days, which suggests a reveal during GDC next week.

VideoGamer.com Analysis

The studio making Modern Warfare 3 remains to be seen. The problems experienced by series creator Infinity Ward have been well documented. Could new studio Sledgehammer be involved or will Infinity Ward rise from the controversy even stronger?

I know how it should be revealed, 90% will be spec-ops douche-bags running round killing folk with rare consideration for the value of life & it all ending with the truth being brought close to the people who should listen before some other EviL numpty picks up the torch before they could hear it .
The other 10% will be the real life douche-bags ruining the already tiresome re-hashed online format for the rest of us (not that i'll be playing the Online) .
I bet the announcement is pretty similar lol.

Haha no problem - it happens to the best of us! :p

@Dudester: I know for sure that anything else that will come out on 11/11/11 will be put out of the way (even if it was BF3) and will not be bought until the new year! Or after I get bored of slaying dragons. But then the whole gaming economy doesn't revolve around me (shame really)!

Zelda has not been given a date other than "after E3". I think it will be released by September.

November 11th. I know MW3 hasn't been confirmed, but isn't that the same date as Zelda?

I think the last two games got reveal trailers at random times at this time of the year followed by gameplay at E3. Might have gameplay earlier than usual.

I'll buy it and try not to enjoy it, but at the end of the day the games are usually a good explosive bang for your buck.

Predictable as the tides, but I do wonder why they're going to announce it at GDC. E3 would be much more appropriate because it's a far bigger spectacle and people would get so hyped over it. Usually it would be a bit silly to announce a game at the E3 before launch, but is it reaallyyy going to make a difference to their sales? Sure it might condense their marketing strategy timeline, but that's not a difficult thing to adapt to. It also means they're not rushing like fifty studios to make something for GDC.
