Activision has announced its plans to release new multiplayer maps and to add the anti-cheat software Punkbuster in the next Call of Duty 2 PC update.
Call of Duty 2's multiplayer component has received strong criticism from some of the game's most hardcore of fans, with many gamers promising to essentially begin strike action and close down the game servers should improvements to the service not materialise. Well, it appears that Infinity Ward and Activision are finally going to be making some enhancements.
Activision is promising new multiplayer maps, Punkbuster anti-cheat software and other support enhancements as part of the next game update, which is scheduled to be ready in early 2006.
"Our team at Infinity Ward is committed to supporting Call of Duty fans," said Grant Collier, president, Infinity Ward. "We've worked hard to deliver the most epic and immersive experience ever with Call of Duty 2 and look forward to delivering new content such as multiplayer maps, tools and anti-cheat software that will further enhance the gameplay experience."
