Character pretends to shoot himself in the head.

Gearbox has released the final box art for its imminent FPS and RPG hybrid Borderlands, and it's likely to upset a few people.

On the cover is one of the game's iconic masked characters who is pretending to shoot himself in the head with his hand. An action shot is plastered across the cover representing the blood and brain matter being expelled from his skull.

It's certainly a striking image.

Borderlands is scheduled for release on October 23 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
