Borderlands 2 is official - debuts at gamescom
News
The game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the year beginning April 1 2012.
2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced Borderlands 2. The game will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the year beginning April 1 2012 - our guess is a late 2012 or early 2013 release.
Borderlands 2 will feature all-new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment. Players will reveal secrets and escalate mysteries of the Borderlands universe as they adventure across unexplored areas of Pandora.
The game will make its debut at gamescom, running from August 17-August 21, before making an appearance at PAX Prime at the end of the month.

In Borderlands 1, was the 'fall through the floor to loot the armory' glitch deliberate? If so will there be a similar 'hidden entrance' feature in Borderlands 2?
One of the criticisms of Borderlands was the lack of variation in environments, how does Borderlands 2 address this?
Can existing weapons now be customised?
Is the drop system for items the same in Borderlands 1?
Can you talk about any special abilities that new characters have? (e.g. Turret, Bloodwing, Phase Walk, Berserk etc).
Can characters still be customised via point-assignation, if so is there more variety or are the skilltrees the same quantity and depth as before?
Is the shield system in place, or has armor been added?
Any new elements to play with? (Borderlands had Shock, Fire, Caustic, Explosive).
Can they talk about the new varieties of vehicle, and does vehicular combat play a larger role?
Which familiar characters (NPCs) will make a return?
Does the main quest revolve around another Vault? Or is it a whole new storyline?
Any plans to take the action off Pandora and allow players to explore other areas of the Galaxy?
Thanks in advance, hope you find some of these questions useful!

Also, Flamethrowers: yay or nay?
Any bonus content/loot for those of us who have completed/100%'d the entire game (including Moxxi)?
Cheers, Neon - hope you have fun with it, you lucky bugger!

Questions:
1: With details of Borderlands 2 having interactive dialogue. Will players have decisions to make, which could change the plot at hand?
2: Will claptrap return?
3: What about customzing weapons, seeing as Borderlands 1 only allowed you to change the colour of your attire.

I'll also be speaking to one of the devs, so if you've got any questions or things you'd like to know about, post here and i'll do my best to get answers!

You've just made me mess my trousers!

and @MrGloomy: maybe even dual wielding elemental flamethrowers with bayonets?

@FM : Borderworlds might be nothing. Publishers and developers often buy up domain names at an early stage of development (or planning) and then do nothing with them. Rockstar owns loads of GTA domains.

I never even considered dual-wielding. If that is in, then Win! :D
