Ad-supported free online multiplayer game will have an increased focus on social networking.
Shacknews reports that Battlefield Heroes has been delayed and is now scheduled for release towards the end of 2008.
The free-to-play browser title had been pencilled in for a summer launch, but speaking during a conference call today EA CEO John Riccitiello revealed the game is now "launching at the end of the calendar year".
Riccitiello also noted that the decision was made to "increase its focus on some of the social networking features" and the extra development time will enable the developers to incorporate feedback from beta testers.
