Ubisoft tried but in the end the open world nature of the game made it impossible.
Gamers hoping to grab a bite sized morsel of Assassin's Creed with which to assess purchasing potential look to be out of luck.
Speaking in a roundtable interview at TGS last month, Assassin's Creed producer Jade Raymond revealed that a demo simply isn't possible. "No, we're not making a demo," said Raymond who cited the sandbox nature of the game as the reason.
"... I think that's the same reason that games like GTA don't have a demo - when you have a city it's hard to figure out exactly what you put on there," elaborated the popular Ubisoft producer.
Apparently the team did attempt to come up with a solution, but could see no way to do it.
