GfK ChartTrack reports that Eidos' Batman: Arkham Asylum has held onto the All Formats All Prices Chart No.1 spot, with second week sales down by only 27 per cent over its debut. The launch of the PS3 Slim also helped boost sales for the PS3 version.
It wasn't just Batman that benefited from the launch of the PS3 Slim, with Activision-Blizzard and EA seeing solid gains. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare saw a 128 per cent sales increase, enough to see the title charge up to No.3 - its highest chart position in almost 18 months. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 is up one place to No.7 (sales up 38 per cent), Call of Duty: World at War is up seven per cent and Fight Night Round 4 sales improved by an impressive 68 per cent.
The Top 10 was also able to accommodate two new entries: 505 Games' IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey at No.6 and Square Enix’s Dissidia: Final Fantasy at No.10.
The big releases likely to storm to the stop of next week's chart are The Beatles: Rock Band from EA and MTV and Activision's Guitar Hero 5, but which game will come out on top? We also expect strong new entries from Championship Manager 2010 and DiRT 2, while there may be a place in the Top 20 for Mini Ninjas.
