Amnesia, the horror title from Frictional Games, has sold approximately 1.4 million units, the developer has announced - but the figure could be as low as 920,000.

The uncertainty comes from the game's inclusion in the Humble Indie Bundle and the Potato Sack bundle. If bundle buyers already owned Amnesia, the 1.4 million figure would drop significantly, according to a blog post by Thomas Grip. Either way, sales of 1 million units isn't shabby at all.

Speaking about the firm's next game, A Machine for Pigs, Grip stated that the game is coming along nicely and that it's expected in early 2013.

While A Machine for Pigs is being handled by thechineseroom (Dear Esther), Frictional's next title is said to be a first-person horror, but Grip didn't want to give too much away.

"At Frictional Games our main concern is our new super secret project. We do not want to say much about this project yet, but we can disclose that it will be horror and that it will be first person.

"One of the things I was most disappointed with in Amnesia was that it never really managed to deliver any deeper themes, but was more like a shallow fright-fest. For the new project we want to change that and really try and bring a certain theme to the front. Our hope is that this will create a very special experience, creating horror in a much more disturbing way."

The unannounced title is expected at some point in 2014.
