Would have to be a 'different game that fits better for the system'.

APB: All Points Bulletin is set for release on PC in July, but what of a version for consoles? Lead designer EJ Moreland has told developer that Realtime Worlds "wants a console version of APB".

"Console and PC development teams usually have different philosophies on approaching a project, and so they should," he told Develop.

He added: "Usually when you play a console-to-PC port, or vice-versa, it's usual that the game won't work as well as it did on its original platform. So for us, what we see for APB on consoles – and we've had discussions about this – is to make a different game that fits better for the system."

Moreland explained that should a console version go ahead the game would have to change to work on the platforms, but the core experience would not be radically different.

"It will still have the basic core principals of content creation, online celebrity and deep match-making, but this will be an experience specifically for consoles and console players," he explained.

APB is scheduled for release on July 2. For more on the game check out our recent hands-on preview.

I honestly didn't find it that fun, and the problem is that i'd have to pay to find out if the 'Gold' version of the game has improved significantly.

I'll admit It's not really my thing though, fps is a non-serious thing for me. FPS massively multiplayer....i can see me being overwhelmed with it after the honeymoon period.

Yeh the game is defiantly fun :D not sure if Im going to get it though... I don't like any game where you have to pay monthly or any variation of that.

Yeah no arguments there it's certainly best suited for PC. The logo and clothing customisations alone would probably fill a disc on the 360 lol.

I just find console gaming more accessible these days when i can't afford to keep upgrading my laptop/pc to meet the demands of new games.

I'm sat in Realtime Worlds' studio right now. When questioned about the console versions they didn't give a solid yes or no. It was more to do with the support each platform would offer them. PC offers them the best platform to work with however.

Game is good fun :)

It was originally planned to be on console from the start. APB is less of an MMO and more clan-based GTA than anything anyway.

Would it work though?...
Doubtful that Microsoft will ever be willing to do a MMO on this generation console.
Maybe next gen....
