Ok this is the situation today...wow WAS a good game before tbc(and maybe a little after tbc aswell), but nowadays it SUCKS badly, you get free epics, there aint much of endgame contenct etc(its not really endgame content if you grind hours and days to get your god damn honor points so you can buy your epics.)every noob in wow has full epics...remember the old times? I do remember...i was like "Woooot" when I inspected some1 who had a couple of epics.
I played wow for 2 years and the only thing i can say now is that the game is DEAD..not dying..its DEAD..the new expansion will just bring the same shit in a new backage.
And what comes to warhammer online..it looks good yeah and i've read about it, but it just feels like another wow really..check the graphics..factionbased pvp..booooring.
AoC will bring us something new..A new world..not one with hobbits and elves, but a one with brutality, awsome combat, superior graphics even nudity...and ofcourse the things a true mmorpg player wants..endgame pvp, raiding etc...but the all in a whole new exciting world!
You will never get rid of Little Kids yapping and acting childish from these games... you may actually attract more kids just because of the gore and nudity.
For me, it's all about the Sieges and the buildings of towns... I CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE CARES ABOUT THIS!@?@! Think about it... you can build a whole town for your guild and you never know... it would be great if they allow you to build up that town into bigger ones, eventually building castles. This game has so much potential and I hope the developers will keep pushing for newer innovative gameplay.... not the usual crafts, pvp, pve, mounts, etc.... I truelly believe the next successful MMO will allow guilds and alliances build castles and charge taxes for those who hunt or deal business around a great area. And those that break the guilds laws: for instance - no pvp or no pickpocketing etc. in their land will need players to reinforce it... For example, if HumppA comes in my guilds area and pvps, I have a right to hunt him down and Arrest him with my own swat team. HumppA will be jailed and pay a fine or must farm for me as a penalty.
The more a MMO allows players to create their playing environment... the more exciting it will be for everyone.
Having played... EQ1 - DAoC -SWG - Linage 2 - CoH - EQ2 - WoW - Guild Wars - RF-online - LOTRO - EvE
...I must say that AoC is the next MMORPG I'll go to. It will quite seriously be a fresh wind from all the other games I've played, and I agree with Klever, it reminds me a lot of SWG in it's beginning, and it was awsome.
mm yes the old SWG days, as Klever wrote. kinda reminds me of the same thing, i have the collectors edition on preorder too, cant way till time to play
devilzmantis-- That game is being made as we speak, maybe not exactly that, but pretty close. Check out Darkfall, it's been in production for quite some time, but it promises to be truly phenomenal.
I was hoping for a more mature setting, and stop seeing loads of LOLZ and other poo-lingo these kids throw at me all day, so if that removes atleast half that group I change to AOC any day.
I loved Warcraft like the millions of other players and I played my way to 70 and raided and pvped and I still enjoy the game but that in no way defers me from being amazed by what Age of Conan is aiming to achieve and if it can deliver it'll truly be a great game.
Played around on a lot of MMORPGs in my small time. Starting back in the day with Lineage, LineageII, Ultima Online, DAoC, Everquest2, and World of Warcraft. Games just seem to get better and better but I am still overall impressed with DAoC's mechanics and design. Left DAoC for lack of graphics. Can't wait to leave WoW either because that game is all about the loot. I literally sit in Stormwind for hours asking for groups because my pathetic excuse of a guild is so focused on their 25 man raids, they have no time to stop and help the people that have a life out. I am intrigued of this game's design and looks promising. Combat will be more interactive instead of hitting 4 keys on my fury warrior. Down side to this game is that you will have to own a more substantial computer to run this game to enjoy it. Overall I just want to get away from the little kids and having to be careful not to say something "to mature" and have someone on the other end ask me to not be myself when they shouldn't even let their child play these kind of games. This game is going to be rated 18+ correct? Read this and remember parents, this game is for you. Not your 13 yr old daughter or son. Peace
Yea I hope this game out does WoW. That game needs to be tooken out. I hope the combat system acctually works out. Also hope we who are acctually getting the game play more healers and tanks LOL. Much love to DPSers tho
