Funcom won't rule out making available mounts similar to the pre-order exclusive War Mammoth and War Rhino.
Age of Conan developer Funcom has revealed that it intends to announce a "road map" for future content updates and expansions soon before the game's May 23 European release.
Speaking at the game's official launch in Oslo this afternoon, game director Gaute Godager took to the stage to reveal that while players who have not pre-ordered the game will never gain access to the pre-order exclusive War Rhino and War Mammoth mounts, the developer is "not ruling out the chance" that similar mounts will be made available some time in the future.
He said: "Shortly before launch we will be releasing a road map for future content. We're not ruling out the chance to make mounts available in the future. They won't be exactly the same mounts (as the War Rhino and War Mammoth) but something similar."
The news will come as some relief to fans who have failed to pre-order the game. Godager also hinted that future expansions would bring a level cap increase from 80. He said of a level cap increase: "It's natural for an MMO to increase its level cap over time."
At the event Funcom also showed for the first time footage of a city siege in practice. More on that later.
Age of Conan is scheduled for release on PC in Europe on May 23.
