xbox one11 -

Xbox One will launch ahead of PS4 and will stay ahead through its 10 year lifecycle, Microsoft Canada's Xbox director of marketing Craig Flannagan has told GamesIndustry.

"Xbox One is going to start ahead, in terms of the experience we can deliver," Flannagan said. "And because we're built for the future, we're going to stay ahead.

"I think there is not a better experience you can buy this holiday, and there will not be a time this generation where there's a better experience you can buy than Xbox One... And it's probably going to be a pretty long generation. We're probably here for a while because we're built for the future. This is a console that will last you, conservatively a decade, if I had to put a bet down today."

Flannagan, who was present for the launch of Xbox 360 and Kinect, says he's never been part of such a huge launch.

"This is far and away the biggest launch we've ever done," he said. "It's the most hardware we've ever produced. It's the most we've ever pre-sold. We're pre-selling a little over 2-to-1 from what we did with Xbox 360. The momentum on launch has been really good."

Xbox One launches November 22. Analysis

We'd better get used the fact that Xbox is not seen by Microsoft as a games console, but a platform on which it can deliver all forms of entertainment into the living room.

you recently bought GTAV on the PS4?? Are you from the future? GTAV is not on the PS4 and the PS4 is not out yet. So how did you manage to buy a game that doesn't exist on a system that is not for sale yet?

Well I for one was leaning towards getting a ps4 in about 6 months - 1 year. But now I've realized I have to get an XBONE as soon as possible.

I just want to phone up Microsoft and tell them to stop talking, the way they are doing everything for PR this time around is appalling. It may be the way it's being reported, but I don't think so, they just keep coming off as smug, arrogant, out of touch and it's turning me off.

Problem I have is that having recently bought GTAV on the PS4 the chat facilities offered by playstation are abysmal when compared to Live.

As I said in another thread, I'll be waiting and watching everything shake out until a game comes out that I want that cant get from my PS3 or 360

of course its the biggest launch youve ever done you muppet since a) youve only done two and b) the industry exploded in about 2008-2012, and xbox was massively niche before then.
also, big talking has got microsoft nowhere so far in the build up to launch, so we'll see what actually happens. i dont trust anything pr people say from these companies...
