Xbox One’s voice commands will only be available in the US, UK, Canada, France and Germany, Microsoft has revealed.
The information is tucked away at the bottom of Microsoft’s new ‘Get More With Xbox One’ page on Xbox.com, which discusses the console’s capabilities and – rather cheekily – compares the number of awards the console’s exclusive titles have received with those on PlayStation 4.
“Xbox voice commands will not be available in all markets on the product release date,” reads the notification. “Voice commands will be available at launch in US, UK, CA, FR, and DE.”
Kinect’s voice capabilities were thought to have been one of the major selling points of Xbox One, which lets users interact with the hardware using their voice.
A similar service, compatible with fourteen countries, is already available using Kinect for Xbox 360.
Microsoft announced that Xbox One had been delayed until early 2014 in multiple European territories earlier this month. The delay is thought to be linked to localisation issues.
Xbox One launches this November for £429.
