Xbox LIVE reaches 10 million subscribers

Milestone achieved a full six months ahead of schedule.

Early this morning at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Microsoft announced that its Xbox LIVE service has reached the "milestone of ten million subscribers".

The service which connects members across 26 countries has reached this milestone six months ahead of schedule. As is normal, Microsoft didn't reveal how many of this 10 million were paid subscribers to the Gold service - a premium version of LIVE which offers online multiplayer and matchmaking amongst other enhancements over the Silver service.
