Activision believes that in the 2007 calendar year the Xbox 360 will sell five million units compared to four million for PS3 and Wii.
In a conference call with analysts, Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith revealed his company's estimates for North American console sales during 2007. The Xbox 360 is the publisher's top pick with estimated sales of five million units ensuring Microsoft's console keeps ahead of the opposition.
Activision estimates that the PlayStation 3, Wii and PlayStation 2 will each shift four million units over the course of the year. Handhelds are also expected to continue to be big business, with estimated sales of 10 million units.
Griffith also revealed that Activision does not expect to see a price cuts on next-gen game prices; North American retail prices will remain at $59 for PS3 and Xbox 360, with Wii games $10 cheaper at $49.
