Vivendi Universal's Games division saw a rise in revenue of 76 percent in quarter two of the year.

The boost in revenue in the latest financial figures is largely thanks to the exceptional performance of World of Warcraft. The Blizzard developed MMO has gained over 3.5 million subscribers worldwide, making it the most popular MMO game in the world.

Quarter two revenues were up by 76 percent to 125 million Euro, with first half revenue up 61 percent to 236 million Euro. Other strong performers were Robots, S.W.A.T. 4, Half Life 2, The Simpsons: Hit and Run and Empire Earth II.

For the entire Vivendi Universal group, sales rose by eight percent in the second quarter to 4.62 billion Euro.
