A new job advertisement placed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has revealed plans for a PlayStation 3 version of WipEout.

The ad, which seeks applicants for an urgent Senior/Lead Designer role, lists the task for the successful applicant as: "To have a key role in realising future iterations of Wipeout on PSP and PS3."

That's pretty clear cut evidence that Sony's seminal futuristic arcade racer is heading to the PlayStation 3 - hardly a shock revelation, but still the first official word on the project. Further job listings reveal the development of a new PSP and PlayStation 3 football title, quite possibly new versions of Sony's World Tour Soccer series.
