Nintendo has rolled out a new system update for Wii U that introduces the option to perform a system transfer between two Wii U consoles.
The new option lets users migrate all software and data from one Wii U to another, useful for when your console develops a fault or if you're thinking about making an upgrade.
However, once a system transfer is performed, all data on the original Wii U will be wiped – similar to how it works on 3DS.
There's still no way to simply transfer your save files to another device for use on a second Wii U, either, meaning you'll still have to take your entire console to a friend's house if you wish to continue your save game there.
As well as the new system transfer, update 5.1.0 introduces the option to navigate the Nintendo eShop using a Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller or Classic Controller, and makes further improvements to system stability.
