Tablet attachment having difficulties?

wii u hardware10 -

Nintendo is reported to be having difficulties developing the Wii U hardware. The problem is said to lie in the wireless controller communicating with the Wii U hardware, according to 01net. Notably, the streaming technology does not work properly.

Right now the devkit controller is wired, as it was seen at E3. Developers are being sent software updates on an almost daily basis.

Nintendo had an internal target of a June 2012 launch for the Wii U, but apparently the company is looking at pushing that back to September 2012.

The hardware is also on its third iteration, with a fourth allegedly expected before the end of the month.

Nintendo has also confirmed that the circle pad attachment for 3DS is real, and availability will be announced at a later date.

Hope this doesnt put developers off the console. A lot of great games could be developed for it.

Yeah, I can imagine the Wii U being pushed back until December. It definitely makes sense.
That way, Nintendo would still have a good year or so on its rivals, and it'll give developers a few extra months to polish their wares for launch :)

I did think that streaming all that responsive data to a screened handset could prove difficult.

I agree with you Woffls. Pushing the console back gives Nintendo and developers to work with the technology more, ironing out any consistent problems they are encountering. We don't want a console that is rushed like the 360 with the RROD, do we now? ;)

[edit - I'm blind]

Not that surprising, and if I remember correctly the target was June 2012 at the very earliest. I think it'll get released on December 7th 2012. It just feels right.
