Valve: acquisition by Google is 'just a rumour'

Remains focused on Left 4 Dead and supporting its Steam partners.

After a day of speculation surrounding the rumoured acquisition of Valve by Google, Valve VP of marketing Doug Lombardi has labelled such a move as a rumour.

"It's just a rumour," Lombardi told VideoGamer.com. "We're completely focused on making Left 4 Dead a great product and supporting folks like Crytek and Ubisoft who are bringing great games such as Crysis Warhead, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, and more to Steam."

Earlier in the day Google had refused to comment on the matter.
