3ds -

An upcoming system update for Nintendo 3DS will let users combine their 3DS and Wii U eShop balances into a single Nintendo Network ID.

The update means that eShop funds will no longer be split between Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U, but unified in a single account.

The update was announced by Nintendo of Europe president Satoru Shibata during today's Nintendo Direct update, who added that the firm would "continue to improve our offerings with Nintendo Network IDs".

"Eventually more of our services will use them," he said, including Miiverse on Nintendo 3DS.

The system update is expected to launch next month.

Now all they need to do is lower all the prices accross the board by about 30% and actually, ya know, get some games on there!

Whilst mostly what featured was new trailers and updates for games we already knew about, Nintendo did announce, a few things in this Nintendo direct.

1)Unified balance and Miiverse across Wii U and 3DS
2)Nintendo Pocket Football; Nintendo's version of football manager live... (yes you read that right)
3)The addition of collectable stamps, that can be used in miiverse, that can be earned multiple future Nintendo games, like Super Mario 3D world. (i.e. A different take on achievements).

I didn't realise this was a thing.
God, Nintendo really can't do online right, they're years in the past with it. Really need to push it, honestly.
