Toriyama wants to remake Final Fantasy VII

It would be a 'tremendous project' says the Final Fantasy XIII director.

Speaking to Siliconera, Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama has revealed if he were to remake a Final Fantasy game, his choice would be Final Fantasy VII.

Before you get too excited, though, his comment came with a rather hefty clause; it'll only happen if Square Enix could get together enough man power.

"If we had the manpower and the time to work on a project, if we were to remake Final Fantasy VII with the quality of Final Fantasy XIII it would become a tremendous project," he explained. "If we can get the number of people we need by all means that would be the one I would really want to remake."

For those feeling that nostalgic urge, Final Fantasy VII is available to download on the PlayStation Store for PS3 and PSP.

Wait, why remake Mortal Kombat? No, dont remake Metal Gear, they did that with MGS1 on the gamecube and it wasn't the same.They sound like a terrible ideas.

Considering that FF7 is owned by Sony recreating the game would be a great thing for PS3 owners. Come to think of it, I think doing remakes is something developers should strongly consider. Here are some I would like to see.

That would be awesome, i'm sure Square Enix could get the man power, who wouldn't want to work on it? Even so, they'd have to get it right for the fans. I'd probably buy a PS3 for it...madness i know.
