Epic Games and Ubisoft have teamed up to bring the PC version of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 to the Epic Games Store, leaving rival Steam out in the cold.
In addition to securing The Division 2, both companies will be teaming up to bring 'select additional titles' to the service throughout 2019. Ubisoft is also flogging The Division 2 via its own dedicated online store.
The Epic Games Store launched late last year, and it's not hard to see why it's becoming an attractive alternative to Steam. Epic only takes a 12 per cent cut of sales from its store compared to Valve's outfit, which nabs 30 per cent.
Epic is also promising to offer punters a free game every two weeks, with Super Meat Boy being the most recent when it dropped on December 28.
'We entrust Epic to deliver a smooth journey for our fans, from preordering the game and enjoying our Beta to the launch of Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 on March 15,' commented Chris Early, vice president of partnerships for Ubisoft. 'Epic continues to disrupt the video game industry, and their third party digital distribution model is the latest example, and something Ubisoft wants to support.'
The Division 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on March 15.
