UPDATE: The Steam Winter Sale is now live, with Daily Deals on Hitman Absolution, Borderlands 2 and Scribblenauts Unlimited. Head through to the online store to take a look at what's on offer, or have a read of our Best of the Steam Winter Sale 2012 article for the biggest deals in this year's sale.

ORIGINAL STORY: Steam's 2012 Winter Sale is due to go live later today, a Capcom employee has confirmed.

The holiday sale is a yearly tradition for Valve, which typically offers huge savings on a vast selection of titles available on the digital platform.

As well as confirming the start date, Capcom also revealed its list of titles due to be offered in the sale, including Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Street Fighter X Tekken, Devil May Cry 3 & 4 and various Nyu Media titles.

A start time for the sale has yet to be confirmed, but Steam's sales have tended to kick off at around 6pm GMT in previous years. Expect to see a similar start time tonight.

Is there anything you're hoping to see discounted in the Steam sale? Let us know in the comments below.

Funny, thats the exact opposite to me, normally I never want anything, and despite knowing I have at least 7 top games coming at Christmas (considering I ordered them for people :P) There are a fair few games I want this time. It's mainly smaller games like Hero Academy, Hitman and Ace Of Spades. Little £3-£4 games that are small and fun things.

It's Christmas next week, my wallet doesn't care much right now. I'm going to be getting some money as Christmas presents anyway so I may as well spend max £15 on so good deals! I don't even really want much this time anyway so it's all good.

I'd like Skyrim for pretty cheap, mainly for the mods. I'd also like Monopoly to come down in price too. I'm not even joking.
