First-party studios have already been experimenting with 'different options'.
Speaking to MTV Multiplayer at E3, Sony marketing manager John Koller revealed that the new GPS add-on for the PSP has opened up a host of new possibilities for portable gaming.
"That's [GPS] going to be a big one for us," said Koller. "It changes the dynamics of GPS but also changes the way developers think about games on PSP because you can start integrating GPS into it."
He continued: "There's been a number of things that our first-party worldwide studios have looked at, and they've been trying to look at different options."
The PSP's GPS add-on, Go! Explore, is scheduled for release in the UK this week, with its North American launch not planned until early in 2009.
