sony erricsson k510i -

According to Nikkei business daily, Sony is to establish a new development team with the goal to create a new gaming phone to compete with Apple's iPhone.

The new phone is said to combine gaming features of the PSP with the functionality found in Sony Ericsson mobile phones. A team could begin work on the project as early as July.

Both the Walkman and Cybershot brands have been successfully incorporated into the Sony Ericcson mobile phone range, and last month Sony Ericsson president Hideki Komiyama revealed that a PlayStation mobile "could happen".

Overpriced, underpowered, crippled by rubbish software... feature brushed aluminum case and illegible logo.

Aren't several of these points also applicable to the IPhone? Price Especially

My Nan is also developing an IPhone Rival.

Seriously Sony already released an IPhone rival its called the Xperia X1 which is a more alround phone in my opinion. More in development X2 and the phone Ninjutsu was plugging on here before. Never going to take over the IPhone as it has the cool factor.

No doubt this would contain the Cross Media Bar, i am thinking maybe the ability to play the newly announced MiniS? would make sense right because of their tiny size. And would definitely set the bar seeing as there would a lot of games from day one similar to the PSPGO!

'insiders' have been talking of a PSP-phone since the PSP launched. I'm not holding my breath for a release any time soon.
