Now scheduled for January 2011.

Feature film studio Screen Gems has confirmed that the fourth Resident Evil movie, Resident Evil: Afterlife, will now open on January 14, 2011, missing its previously planned August 27, 2010 debut.

Filling the void left by the video game inspired action flick is Priest, a comic book vampire thriller starring Paul Bettany - moved forward from its original October 1, 2010 release.

The delay is to allow director Paul W.S. Anderson time to complete the movie in post-production.

Afterlife once again revolves around Alice, who continues her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety in a world devastated a virus which turns the infected into the living dead. The film will also be released in 3D.

Gutted because I got a feeling it won't be worth the wait. But 3D sounds good.
