Psychonauts creator Tim Schafer has asked fans of the game to ask Microsoft to make the game compatible with the Xbox 360.
Gamers have to cling onto their Xbox to play some of the system's best titlesMuch has already been said about backwards compatibility on the Xbox 360; in particular the lack of support for some of the most acclaimed titles. Double Fine's Psychonauts is once such game that currently won't work on an Xbox 360, and Tim Schafer, the game's creator, wants this to change.
In a post on Double Fine's website, Schafer has asked fans of Psychonauts to ask Microsoft to make the game compatible with the Xbox 360.
"I want you to...send Microsoft a heartfelt message," reads Schafer's appeal. "Something to the effect of, 'I am a 9-year-old boy in the hospital, dying of consumption, and my last wish is to play Psychonauts on my XBOX 360!' (Please, try to make up your own disease.)"
Hundreds of messages from fans might make Microsoft take note, but Psychonauts, being a poor seller, is unlikely to be on the top of Microsoft's backwards compatibility 'to do' list. The is some hope though - only last weekend Microsoft VP Peter Moore expressed the company's desire to continue improving the backwards compatibility software, stating that Microsoft is "going to get darn close to that stated goal of every title done."
Earlier this week another batch of backwards compatible Xbox titles was added to the supported list, with the most notable games being Doom 3 and Lego Star Wars.

I would love to play games like Magician Lord, Nam 75, Baseball Stars Professional, King of the Monsters, Cyber Lip, Ninja Combat, Burning Fight, Samurai Shodown 1 and 2, World Heroes 2, Art of Fighting, all of the Metal Slug games, Pulstar, and many others. I would also love to play Konami's awesome 4 player Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game and the awesome 4 player WWF Wrestlefest arcade game. Those would be GREAT on Xbox Live Arcade.
