Sony has revealed its plan to let owners of PSP games on UMD download them on PlayStation Vita at 'a special price'. The news comes from a promotional pamphlet, the contents of which has been divulged to Andriasang and elaborated on by Sony development chief Yoshio Matsumoto.

Presumably this will only be possible for games that already exist on the PlayStation Store, which while decently stocked carries nowhere near every game released for the PSP.

Sony also confirmed PS Vita software pricing in Japan, with top end titles costing as much as £50 - pricing for Europe hasn't been confirmed yet.

This is something existing PSP owners will be keen to find out more about, but steep prices could put a lot of people off. A big question remains on what gamers will have to do to prove they qualify for this 'special price'.
