PS3 motion controller demoed

Scheduled for a spring 2010 launch.

Today at the SCEA E3 media briefing Dr Richard Marks was invited to the stage to announce a new motion controller in development for PS3.

The wand features numerous motion sensors and a glowing ball on its end, which the PlayStation Eye is capable of accurately tracking. Some impressive tech demos showcased the new device, including a first-person shooter, swordplay, archery, RTS unit selection and more.

It all looked very impressive and according to SCEA's Jack Tretton a spring 2010 launch is targeted.
