PS3 Motion Controller confirmed for autumn 2010
Worldwide release to be supported by an 'extensive' software line-up.
Sony Computer Entertainment has announced it will release its new Motion Controller (still a tentative name) for PS3 in autumn 2010 in Europe, North America, Japan and Asian regions and countries.
The Motion Controller launch will be supported by what SCE is calling an "extensive line-up of exciting software titles".
The new controller, combined with the PlayStation Eye camera, can detect the natural and intuitive movement of the hand and reflect the precise movement within the game, delivering a whole new entertainment experience on PS3.
"We have decided to release the Motion Controller in fall 2010 when we will be able to offer an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users," said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. "We will continue to work to have a comprehensive portfolio of attractive and innovative games for the Motion Controller, not only from SCE Worldwide Studios but also from the third party developers and publishers, whom we have been working closely with. We look forward to soon unveiling the exciting software line-up that further expand and define the PS3 platform as the ultimate entertainment system for the home."
SCE added that it will "vigorously promote the Motion Controller as the de facto controller of the PS3 platform along with the DualShock series controller".
In September 2009 SCE announced it planned to release the Motion Controller in spring 2010 with the support of a number of software titles including Ape Escape and Motion Party.

Many or many things would make many other things be more, if you know what i mean. When we swing we get pain, not all but some depends on how or what am doing : )

Can see that you mean that the end product will be the same but in my opinion the fact that you are restricted by the controller sets the products apart.
Edit: Its not a fight its a discussion, I fully respect PB-Live as one of my favoured forumites.

But Arc (so it's now being called apparently) is supposed to be a wand and the PSEye together, which will be used to triangulate your position in the room. This is a similar (not quite the same) idea to Natal's system, which also uses a camera, but not the wand.
But, yeah, I can see the confusion.

Really want to see how good the Sony Solution is because at the moment we know very little and if honest I can sort of see what Mikes rant was about. It did seem somewhat that Sony pieced together a presentation at E3 last year for an item that seemed no where ready near after a massive bomb delivered by MS.
I truly doubt that was the case though. What I'm surprised at is that Nintendo hasn't decided to release a web cam to use this sort of tech.

It claims to be able to do similar things to Natal in that it can work out distance (though it must have to triangulate between the controllers and the camera somehow).
Of course, we don't know whether this can be substantiated yet, where-as we know from reports that Natal does work and I guess there's the whole thing of Natal not using a controller at all... :)

"Sony has there own next gen Eyetoy, it's been out for a while, the controllers work with it in a similar way to Natal."
From the tech i've seen the Eyetoy is by no means comparable to Natal. But I can see what your getting at and is a very valid point!
This is more a comparrison:

Sony have had movies on PS3 for ages in the US, they'd planned it from the start but it took a lot of work to get it out there.
PS3 had facebook from the start, they have a browser. Again, the XMB one came out about the same time as 360 one.
Sony has there own next gen Eyetoy, it's been out for a while, the controllers work with it in a similar way to Natal. And, again, they started work on this around the same time as MS did.
You could use the same arguement to say MS copied Miis with their Avatars (again, probably in development since the 360 launch) or that MS copied Sony for their twin stick controller or Nintendo copied MS for getting an online store.
At the end of the day, all console manufactures take the best bits from the current and last generation and will often come up with similar ideas at the same time, the difference is in getting them to market.

Why are Sony becoming that kid that you see following the older ones round wanting everything they have . Xbox has movies so now do they , xbox have facebook so do Sony (though its crap as your account has to be a master one wtf ) , & now Xbox has the next gen Eyetoy & Sony rip off nintendo for a change .
Both hd consoles are trying to get parents to spend their cash on them offering the same as eyetoy from yrs gone by but a bit flashier & a wii mote for your ps3 . I own all three & will try my hand at them all but just find it childish how Sony behave at times .

US games people or "gamers" love our pads and are used to the eccentricities of how they control and relate to a game. While not for me, I know my nephew for example who plays games learned on the wii will probably find natal much natural to use.

Many will stay with the Wii because it's all included and the marketing has already been done. I can't see many older people, families that don't normally game etc going for upgrades to another console if they still use the Wii.

Same reason certain cars do well. EG. Peugeot 206 cc, Design Classic millions sold holding prices for a long time but now worth a couple of pennies as it was superseded by another vogue car.
