PS3 3D Blu-ray update coming in October

Hopefully there'll be more movies available to make use of it by then.

The 3D Blu-ray firmware update for PS3 will be released in October, Sony announced at IFA 2010.

The update, which will enable PS3 consoles to playback Blu-ray discs authored in 3D, was expected later this month but will now be rolled out no sooner than 30 days from now.

Despite the delay it's not likely to cause much grumbling amongst movie fans, with very little in the way of 3D media currently available to view anyway.
