Experience an entirely new way to play.

natal -

Microsoft has announced that Project Natal, the in development motion controller for Xbox 360, will be released in holiday 2010.

"When we first showed the prototype of Project Natal at E3 last year, we got an amazing response, and the top question I heard was, when can I get my hands on one of those?" said Entertainment and Devices Division President Robbie Bach at 2010 International CES.

"Now, we've made tremendous progress on the product since then, and we've been hard at work to ensure our third party developers can create their Project Natal ready games. I can now tell all of you that Project Natal will be available this holiday 2010."

No specific release date or price point was announced. In November 2009 rumours emerged that Natal would be released in November 2010 priced at under £50.

Bach concluded: "This holiday 2010 you'll be able to bring home Project Natal, which will work with your existing Xbox 360 console. This holiday 2010 you'll be able to experience an entirely new, yet completely natural way to play."

Exactly, I hope this isn't another MS cock up where the tech fails for the first few years...

Fingers crossed that it's not a rushed release with problems though - we all know that MS are prone to this kind of error.

I can't wait to see how this is going to work on games - exciting times ahead!

Judging by the video posted on VG today, Nintendo has it's work cut out going forward. I wouldn't think Natal will have too many issues getting support, anyone making a title for the Wii could potentially easilly make a 360 version.

I never thought i'd see the day when MS was the first to innovate, but it looks like that day is upon us!

If this works ok and nintendo doesn't confirm that there may be a new console by them in gamescom or E3 for late 2011 then I may buy a 360 for this.

At under £50 I think it would do pretty well & if they really want this thing to get support they should bundle it with new consoles also.
