Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that PlayTV update v1.21 is out now, bringing a host of new functionality to the digital TV accessory on PS3.
The headline feature is support for watching, pausing and recording high definition TV for DVB-T standard broadcasts. Sony also confirmed that PlayTV won't support HD in the UK because of the decision to use DVB-T2, not DVB-T, when HD channels eventually hit the airwaves.
Features UK PS3 owners will be able to utilise include improved SD upscaling and an optimised Remote Play experience on the newly launched Sony Ericsson Aino mobile phone.
