PlayStation Vita TV, a new set-top box entertainment system, will launch on November 14 in Japan, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced.

The tiny new system, which measures only 6.5cm × 10.5cm, will play PS Vita, PSP and PSone titles, but will also offer PS4 games via Remote Play. 720P will be supported over HDMI.

Not all PS Vita games will be supported, though, with those titles requiring use of the handheld's unique feature set unable to be played using the DualShock 3 – the upcoming Tearaway and LittleBigPlanet could be problematic.

Sony also says that only two DualShock 3 pads will be supported, which will be fine for the majority of PSone titles, but again there will be some which can't be played to their fullest.

A host of region-specific video services will also supported.

The PS Vita TV will cost 9,954 yen (around £65), whilst a Value Pack bundling in a DualShock 3 controller and 8GB memory card will launch for 14,994 yen (around £100).

There's currently no word on Sony's release plans outside of Japan, but Sony said in its press release that "PS Vita TV will be available first in Japan prior to any other regions".
