Sony has announced that the PlayStation 3 software update v4.20 will be released today.

The update makes changes to the console's power-save mode, fixes a wireless headset bug, and improves data management.

By default PlayStation 3 consoles will now turn off after one hour of no use - a setting that can be adjusted in the System Auto-Off section of the XMB. Sidetone (hearing your voice while using an wireless headset) can now also be adjusted.

In terms of data management, saved data items can now be selected as a group to be deleted or copied.

This popped up on me last night but I skipped it to play some late night AC2, Il let it run through now and hopefully wont take too long.

Sometimes the downloads and installs are just ridiculous - I'm hoping this isn't gonna be one of them times!

Thrilling so next time I go on PS3 I will have to wait an hour for this to download before I can play anything online, Does anybody else have problems with lengthy console and game updates on PS3?
