Guarantees delivery on November 10 for orders placed before Midnight on Sunday, November 8.
Play.com has announced that the threatened Royal Mail strikes on Friday, November 6 and Monday, November 9 will not prevent its customers from receiving the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on day of release.
Play.com will be delivering Modern Warfare 2 to its customers by an alternative partner, and any customer ordering the game from Play.com before Midnight on Sunday, November 8 will be guaranteed to get the game delivered on the Tuesday release date.
"Our customers’ appetite for this game is without parallel," commented Play.com COO Stuart Rowe, "It's unquestionably the biggest release that we've ever had the opportunity to sell and this unique event is made more complex with the planned industrial action by the Royal Mail. Because of the excitement and anticipation for this title we're going the extra mile and to avoid any disappointment we are using a dedicated service to get the game to each of our customers on the release date. We have many delivery options open to us and we have worked closely with one of our partners to ensure we can offer this delivery guarantee."
Play.com also revealed that Modern Warfare 2 has been in such high demand that in excess of 150 pre-orders a minute have been received by the retailer at peak times.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on November 10 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
