Action game specialists add an unnamed Lord of the Rings game to its current portfolio.
EA has revealed that its newly acquired studio Pandemic, previously known to be working on Mercenaries 2 and Saboteur, is also creating a new title based on the Lord of the Rings motion pictures and literary works currently licensed by EA.
Earlier this month EA announced that a new LOTR title was in development with a planned fiscal 2009 release (before March 31, 2009), presumably the title Pandemic is working on.
Given the studio's speciality in creating action titles (Mercenaries, Star Wars Battlefront, Destroy All Humans) we're expecting the new Lord of the Rings game to be action focused, but this is merely an educated guess at this time.
We hope to hear more about the secretive title over the coming months.
