The Buzz: Follow-up rumoured to be built around the Tegra platform.
According to bsn, Nvidia has won a contract to supply Nintendo with the key hardware behind the successor to the Nintendo DS.
It's believed that Nintendo has opted for a single chip version of Nvidia's Tegra platform, a version of which is already powering a number of handheld devices, including Microsoft's Zune HD.
bsn also cites anonymous sources which indicate that the DS successor will be fully backwards compatible with current Nintendo DS software.
As for when the new handheld will be released, bsn points to a debut late in 2010, possibly at the Tokyo Game Show.
